  • Older travelers

    The view, nothing else

The unfriendly hotelstaff. It seemed that noone liked to work at the hotel. The guests were just trouble to them. We will never stay at that hotel again.

  • Older travelers

the views from the hotel were stunning the staff were very pleasent made us feel very welcome

  • Couple

    Hotel fronting to the sea.

Back rooms face onto a railway, poor room lighting and mould in the shower. Breakfast requires being there at 8:30am, not from 8:30 as we were informed. Front desk staff was fairly stand-offish and unwelcoming (compared to other vacation accomodations we have had since the beginning of the year).

  • Older travelers

The room had a fantastic seaview and was quiet, being in the cul-de-sac end of the seafront. It was only a 10 min walk into the town.It was very good value for the money we paid.

Didn't like the fixed time for breakfast - 8:30. Would have been better spread over 1/2 hour. Curtains were very pale and let in a lot of the streetlights at night.

  • Older travelers

had a great holiday /location great / all staff verry pleasent and help full /food great / will return and stay at your hotel in the future and recomend to freinds and family / weather was very poor for time of year thanks for a great holiday

  • Single

great value for money. Right on the beach.Staff very friendly

Single rooms only at the back, railway line runs fairly close but we did not find it a problem

  • Older travelers

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful the location was close to buses and to local ementies the view from the breakfast room is lovely would have benifited from a room over looking the sea as viewe was lovely I would request this if we visit the hotel again

Not having a sea view and at times the hotel could be noise and you could hear people talking in rooms felt breakfast time was rushed and could have had wider chioce

  • Older travelers

We did not enjoy anything apart from the location.

We did not enjoy our stay at all. We were initially given a sea view room but it had recently had work done to it and was filthy. We were moved rooms but to be honest it was barely adequate. Both rooms were dirty and although we chose to stay we only used the hotel to sleep at night and stayed out for the days we were there. We did not even have breakfast as we found the manager particulary unfriendly and did not feel comfortable after our complaint due to his response? Also not staying for breakfast was due to the uncleanliness of the hotel which needed to be updated, to throw old broken furniture out, and cleaned to a good standard.

  • Older travelers

The fact that it is situated close to the beach

For two nights at about 2200 the bar was closed so we could not have a nightcap. Provision of basics at breakfast was inadequate i.e. butter, jam, marmalade, toast.

  • Older travelers

Beech location,no traffic and very quite street

needs a management on the ball putting into it who care and will go the extra mile

  • Couple

The hotel is located at preston sands and located right on the beach. Our room had a lovely sea view.

I think the rooms need updating, the room was tiny and seemed very dull. The breakfast was at 8.30am prompt! You are given a small bowl of cereal and one glass of orange juice. I did ask for a further glass of orange juice but I was refused. The manager said guests were only allowed one glass of juice with their breakfast. The english breakfast was one sausage, one bacon, a spoonful of beans and some potatoes and some toast. There was also a fire alarm on the Sunday morning at 7.30am. Another guest had said that this happens all the time. No apology, just to be told that hairspray, deodrant, the shower, smoking could set the alarm off!

  • Older travelers

Friendly staff, great location, panoramic sea views, great breakfast

Mature couple, we booked through on the evening before we departed for Paignton, on arrival at about 15:30 on Saturday the guy on reception advised that he had only just received advice of our booking. We were given a small family room at the top of the building, lovely panoramic sea views, with a double + two single beds, but only one arm chair and a stool, Lord knows how we would have coped had there been 4 of us! Bed was comfortable, room could have done with a dust/clean. The bathroom was big and bright enough, with plenty of hot water (water in the shower fluctuated between very hot and cold), but the water pressure in the shower was just above a trickle. Service and the food at breakfast was excellent.

  • Older travelers

very good location excellent staff they were very helpful
